CHAPTER 1
Overview
This chapter provides a basic overview of our online manual, including information about the roles and responsibilities of the LEP, the data collection process and timeline, our video queue, as well as contact information for FPG Educare staff.
CHAPTER 2
Children, Staff, Classrooms, Schools, & Measures: Entering and Connecting Data
This chapter contains details about how to add children, classrooms, rosters, staff, school information, child assessments, and classroom observation data into the main Educare website. It also includes guidance on using the Classroom Characteristics tab.
CHAPTER 3
Parent Interview
Chapter 3 includes details about Educare’s Annual Parent Interview. It is administered yearly to the parents/guardians of Educare students and includes a variety of demographic information about the child and family, parental beliefs and attitudes, and their perceptions of the Educare program.
CHAPTER 4
PLS-5
The PLS-5 is administered to children in English, Spanish, or dual language administration.
CHAPTER 5
PPVT-4
The PPVT-4 is administered in English. After 2023-24, it is no longer required by the Educare National Evaluation.
CHAPTER 6
DECA
The DECA is administered to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
CHAPTER 7
CLASS
Pre-K CLASS data are collected annually.
CHAPTER 8
ITERS-3
ITERS-3 observations are required for classrooms serving infants, toddlers, and/or twos (any classroom where the students are too young for the PreK CLASS to be used).
CHAPTER 9
Classroom Observation Coversheet
The Classroom Observation Coversheet is a form created by the Educare Learning Network to collect additional information during the classroom observation day (ITERS-3 or Pre-K CLASS).
CHAPTER 10
Spring Parent Survey
In the spring, every Educare family completes a Spring Parent Survey. In addition, each family completes a Spring Child Survey for each child enrolled in Educare.
CHAPTER 11
Staff Survey
Each spring, surveys are distributed to teaching staff, family engagement staff, and mentor teachers.
CHAPTER 12
Attendance/Special Needs
Every summer, FPG staff ask LEP staff to update in our system their rosters of children for the school year just completed. FPG then generates spreadsheets that allow LEPs to report on children’s attendance and special need status.

Data Use
This chapter provides some additional tips for using the Educare National Evaluation Study data from your site and the network, and information about Tableau including customization, downloading, and access links.
