Measures

Pre-K CLASS is required in all Pre-K or Head Start classrooms. 

Some programs also use the Infant and Toddler CLASS.  For the convenience of programs that do, the survey system permits entry and retrieval of Infant and Toddler CLASS data. 

Administration

Complete scores for each of the dimensions for 4 to 6 cycles.  Choose a regularly scheduled day (eg not center-wide celebrations).  Cycles should be consecutive. 

Variables Entered into the EIS Database

• Classroom ID
• Observation Date
• Lead Teacher ID
• Observer ID
• Observer Type (in most cases Primary, unless the observation is a training observation)
• Number of adults and children present for each cycle
• Content* observed during each cycle
• Scores for each dimension for each cycle
