Starting in 2021, each school shall collect PPVT:

• on 50% of the children
• only in the two school years prior to kindergarten-eligibility (“Head Start” years)
• in the spring only. 

To assess 50% of the children in the two “Head Start” years, select all of the children born in an even-numbered month (February, April, June, August, October, December).  This strategy allows assessors to easily determine who should be assessed from among the age-eligible cohort, without excluding recent enrollees or needing FPG to provide a replacement for children who have left.  (Schools choosing to collect PPVT data on all children, on younger children, and/or in fall would be welcome to do so.  These data will be included in datasets but may not be reported in annual reports prepared by FPG.) 

Please complete PPVT data collection between March 1 and June 30.
